Corporate TV equipment for a lecture and seminar room at the Crime Prevention Advisory Center Hamburg

MCI has upgraded a lecture and seminar room at the Crime Prevention Advisory Center Hamburg into a corporate TV studio. The aim of the project was to enable the lectures and information events held at the advisory center at Caffamacherreihe 4 to be conducted and attended in a hybrid format.

Multifunctional lecture and seminar room

With the integration of video and audio technology, the lecture and seminar room can now be used for hybrid information events.
Video conferences can be run via a dedicated video conferencing PC. Thanks to standard hardware, all common platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Jitsi are supported.
For professional video capture, BirdDog PTZ cameras have been installed to record both the presentation area and the audience. In typical BYOD fashion, presentations from a laptop brought along can be transmitted directly via cable. A height-adjustable preview monitor allows speakers to keep an eye on what is being displayed at all times.

At the heart of the room is an AVMATRIX video mixer. It aggregates all PTZ camera signals and laptop-based presentations. It enables switching between these sources and can also output picture-in-picture layouts. Via a simple USB-C cable, it is recognized by the video conferencing PC as a webcam, which contributes to the system’s ease of use.

The second main component is the ceiling microphone and loudspeaker solution in combination with an audio network interface. Via USB connection to the video conferencing PC, discussions between speakers and attendees can be transmitted in video conferences. At the same time, online participants and the audio from presentations are played back in the room.

By implementing easy-to-use corporate TV technology, MCI has equipped the lecture and seminar room of the Crime Prevention Advisory Center at Police Station 14 for the future. The room can now be used for lectures and information events both on-site and online.
