Jordan Radio & Television Corporation - Renewal of the Radio Main Control Room

In early 2015, MCI was commissioned by JRTV Jordan to renew the broadcast technology of the radio main control room.
JRTV centrally produces five national radio channels in Amman, which are technically monitored and managed via the radio control room.

The new JRTV Master Control Room is equipped with state-of-the-art digital audio and control technology and was built in extensively renovated rooms parallel to the existing, operational MCR. The broadcast technology was installed in a two-row rack unit in a separately air-conditioned equipment room. From the adjacent MCR operation room, the operational status of the central elements can be visually monitored through a glass wall and electronically controlled via the complex VSM control system. Two large monitors provide a clear overview of the status of all switched connections. Patch panels in the second rack row allow all MCR inputs and outputs to be handled separately. The new Clearcom intercom system organizes communication with external and internal sources. The status of all operating conditions of the Lawo Nova 17 central and transmission router is extensively logged and stored.

Studio Hamburg MCI completed the project within just four months in summer 2015. The entire system was fully pre-assembled in Hamburg, put into operation, and factory-accepted. The first training phase for JRTV operating staff took place during this stage.

Installation and integration into the in-house IT system, along with comprehensive training, were carried out on site in Amman, followed by a trial operation phase.
After a familiarization period, the system was finally put into full operation in November 2015.
