On November 9, 2023, the board of VEMA eG, together with its insurance partners, unveiled the new conference center, including a state-of-the-art TV studio named "Studio 16." MCI was responsible for the construction of the TV studio, including technical equipment, set design, stage and furniture construction, as well as operational training for the operating staff.
The studio area consists of a TV studio with two production areas (real set and virtual set), a central equipment room, a control room, and a presenter’s room. The internal Studio Hamburg collaboration between MCI and its sister company Designworks enabled the production of the ceiling grid, greenscreen cove, real set, as well as studio and control room furniture. For lighting control, MCI selected an “MA-Lighting” control system and ProLights LED spotlights.
“MCI was able to offer us a complete studio solution from a single source and provided consulting right from the start. Together, we found an economical solution in system design that is tailored to our individual needs,” says Aleksandar Tomic from VEMAmedia.
For effective communication in the control room, the innovative Clear-Com Arcadia platform with FreeSpeak beltpacks was chosen. This solution integrates seamlessly into the existing Dante infrastructure, which includes Shure microphones and an Allen & Heath mixing console, providing an optimal communication base. The new Sony FR7 PTZ cameras, controlled via a Cyanview RCP, complete the setup and enable precise camera control.
The control room was equipped with custom-made furniture from Studio Hamburg Designworks, housing key components. The Ross Ultrix Carbonite with a 2ME Touchdrive panel serves as the central routing and mixing system, featuring integrated multiviewers in impressive UHD quality.
